A relentlessly tenacious former World Cup athlete and biodynamic permaculturist who shifted his attention to the challenges of regenerative farming. Antonio founded Pura Vida Chocolate out of a deep conviction that real food and regenerative land stewardship are inseparable.
Currently building a long-term regenerative cacao polyculture agroforestry project on his farm near La Tigra, Costa Rica - and making chocolates in Paonia, Colorado when not planting trees in the jungle. Field-testing every Cacaonivore formulation in the conditions they were designed for.

Pura Vida Chocolate began as one of North America's only truly farm-to-table, bean-to-bar chocolate operations - rooted in a regenerative cacao farm in Costa Rica and crafted in the high desert of Colorado's North Fork Valley.
The mission was always bigger than chocolate. It was about proving that food could regenerate rather than extract - that a small producer, working with integrity and living soil, could make something genuinely extraordinary.
Cacaonivore emerged from that same conviction - taking the ancient technology of pemmican and combining it with regenerative cacao to create the world's first cacao-based performance pemmican. Real Food. Real Farm. Real Proof.
